Italy among the Kitchen and the Garden
Good Food and Conviviality are the epicenter of Italian life. Every family meets at the table to share stories, daily life and troubles. Lunch and dinner are, for us Italians, the most important and most loved moments.
Every Italian has remembrance of when he was a child helping the grandparents in the vegetable garden, picking basil leafs and the ripe tomatoes for lunch. Those fragrances, tastes and colors are etched forever in our mind as happy moments.
Farming & Cooking: our life
We would like to let people live with us for one or more day, our life, the Italian countryside everyday work in the farm that is growing right now.
Basing on the seasons we do different things here so ideally everyday you can have a different experience like baking, preparing the garden for the seeds, pruning, making tomato sauce, picking the olives, woodworking for the poultry, cooking the cake for our kids’ birthday, harvesting honey from the beehives and so on…
Come to stay a day with us from the field to table by our authentic organic farm in Montalcino’s countryside, few kms outside the Old Town. Manuela and Alessandro, the teachers, are a couple of Italian smart and skilled chefs who will expertly introduce you to the Italian tradition of quality food during a walk through the property, visiting the vegetable garden, the chicken coop and the vineyard. You will help in collecting the eggs and picking spices and vegetables but take all this just as a guideline because in the countryside everyday is different.
Then, in the kitchen you will learn how to cook an original Italian full meal including starters, home made fresh pasta and its sauce, main course with its side dish and a dessert. Finally you will enjoy the meal by the family
- The lesson takes 3 hrs starting at 10am + the time for lunch (1hr about)
- Maximum of 6 guests per lesson allowed. (Ask for a private if you prefer or if your group is bigger)
- Lazy partners (houseband, friends..) can eventually join you later for lunch
